Cabernet Sauvignon

A globe-trotting red grape that makes concentrated, tannic wines extremely good for long aging. Dr. Carole Meredith and her PhD student John Bowers at UC Davis successfully identified the two genetic parents of Cabernet Sauvignon to be Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc - hence Cabernet Sauvignon.
